Mannok, in conjunction with South West College Skills Centre and FAS offers apprenticeships in the following areas:
The apprenticeship programme can last from one to four years depending on the level of qualification the you wish to study for. Over the course of the programme, you will cover the following:
Working towards NVQ Level 2, you will gain a basic understanding of the key tasks in your field observing and assisting qualified teams. Two days will be spent in the College and three days in the workplace per week.
On completion of Level 2 and working towards NVQ Level 3, you will start to complete a full range of tasks under supervision. You will attend College one day and spend four days per week in the workplace.
On completion of Level 3 you will be competent to execute all tasks. You will have the option of continuing with your qualifications and enrol in a HNC programme or commence a foundation degree Year 1 should you choose.
Further workplace based learning to enable you to build your confidence in executing tasks with minimal supervision. Additional specialist training will be provided on fault finding, pneumatics, plc etc as required.
In order to apply for an apprenticeship programme you must be aged 16 years or over and hold at least 6 GCSEs at grade C or above including English and Maths or a equivalent qualifications.
Over a four year period you will complete seven phases – the degree at which you progress though each phase is dictated by the student and is assessed by theory and practical exams at the end of each modules.
Rotational block periods of up to six months are spent in College and six months job based learning.
You will attend various Colleges across Ireland for up to a six month duration to complete various modules.
