The Mannok Futures Business & IT ‘Degree+’ Programme aims to give school leavers an opportunity to excel; working across our construction industry supplies and consumer packaging divisions, you will be part of a variety of improvement projects, gaining invaluable experience working in our world-class manufacturing facilities, whilst also studying part-time with Ulster University.
Through training and development programmes, on-the-job learning, coaching and feedback, we ensure that our apprentices have the resources they need to learn, develop and thrive, gaining recognised qualifications while also earning a salary.
Throughout your degree, you will be supported by the dedicated staff within our Business Change Team, who will help you to build and develop the business and technical skills needed to complete your degree, and excel in your role within the business.
Revise the way in which activities are being carried out within the business, re-evaluating the benefit and streamlining/re-engineering processes where possible to improve process flow.
Work with cross-functional project teams to integrate new structures, processes and technologies, enhancing efficiencies and reduce end-to-end cycle times, whilst minimising waste.
Develop and implement software robots to mimic human behaviour, allowing for the automation of repetitive tasks.
Lead cross-functional project teams to implement new technologies and systems. Become skilled in stakeholder management, documentation development alongside project scoping.
Design and develop in-house web portals and full-stack applications. Work with key stakeholders to capture requirements and create solutions to complex problems.
Use SQL to develop clear and concise data reports across multiple data sources, providing management with the tools to analyse trends and make effective decisions
As part of the degree programme, you will be enrolled in the BSc (Hons) Business Technology course through Ulster University, Belfast Campus. This part-time higher level apprenticeship is run over four years, where you will spend one day a week in Ulster University and the remaining four days putting your learnings into practice completing projects alongside the Business Change Team at Mannok.

You will receive a conditional offer and start date, subject to meeting the entry requirements as stated by Ulster University.
Yes – You will earn a base starting salary of £15,000 per year, with the opportunity to earn up to an additional 10% bonus. Your salary will be reviewed and incremented based on your performance throughout the programme.
No – The Department of Further Education pays the full cost of the university fees based on full class attendance and successful completion and pass of all modules each semester.
Apprentices will be contracted with the business for a 5 day week. Apprentices will work in the business Monday – Thursday 8.30am to 5.30pm with paid leave on Fridays (when applicable) to attend class.
On commencement of the Apprenticeship, the work activity in Mannok will, where possible, mirror the course content being delivered each semester. The activity could range from simple programming activities to business analysis and project management.
Your main place of work will be the Mannok Administration Offices located beside the main manufacturing facilities in Derrylin. Central services for the company such as IT, Marketing and Finance are located here. From time to time, site visits may be required to the manufacturing plants which are all located within a 2-mile radius of the offices.
Yes – As with any other employee, Apprentices will be entitled to 30 days annual leave per year, inclusive of bank holidays.
On successful completion of the degree, Apprentices will be invited to join the graduate programme in Mannok.
One of the requirements to access funding from the department of education is the successful completion of the degree programme. Failure to do this may result in all fees being paid back by the Apprentice.
Entry requirements for the course are set by Ulster University, they are as follows;
A level grades BCC OR BTEC level 3 in a relevant discipline OR Combination of A level / BTEC grades.
PLUS
Applicants must have at least a grade C in GCSE Mathematics and English Language or equivalent.
Each apprentice will be assigned a dedicated mentor who will track their progress and guide them throughout the programme. You will also be supported by the members of our Business Change Team, alongside your line-manager.
