Quinn Precast were awarded the contract to complete the design, manufacture and installation of hollowcore flooring and precast stairs and landings in a new care home in Droitwich, Worcestershire. The client, Halsall Construction, are reputed as a leading care and retirement home contractor in the South West region, and this project was undertaken by their team on behalf of Avery Healthcare.
The finished care home, which is due to be completed this Spring, will provide luxury accommodation, with 70 bedrooms and amenities including lounges, dining room, cinema, salon and a therapy room.
Quinn Precast’s in-house design team worked closely with the client to deliver a customised design solution, which included hollowcore flooring and stairs and landing units for ground, first and second floor. As always, health and safety and quality were priority at every stage of the project, from ensuring designs met the client’s health and safety requirements, to maintaining the highest standards during manufacturing and on-site installation process.
A total of over 4,000m2 hollowcore flooring was manufactured by Quinn for the three storeys, in depths of 150mm and 200mm. Twenty stairs and landing units were also produced on custom built moulds.
All units were delivered and installed by Quinn’s award-winning installation team. In total, 47 arctic loads were delivered to site and fitted using a mobile crane supplied by Quinn.
Of the 78 week construction programme, the delivery and installation of all Quinn Precast units was completed with the highest efficiency, taking just 19 days in total to complete.
