Taoiseach officially announces Quinn-Sponsored World nZEB Forum

The industry is awash with talk of nZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Buildings), and what the impact will be on Irish construction, and with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar officially announcing the upcoming Quinn Building Products sponsored World nZEB Forum, it seems the government also recognises the significance of the legislative changes here.

The Forum, which takes place on November 15th and 16th in Wexford, boasts a line-up of speakers which reads like the “Who’s Who?” of nZEB in Ireland and beyond. The Taoiseach joined event organisers from nZEBRA, and representatives of the main event sponsors, Quinn Building Products, in Government Buildings on Wednesday 27th September to officially announce the Forum, which is expected to attract hundreds of Irish Architects and construction professionals.

Tomas O’Leary of nZEBRA spoke of what attendees can expect from the event, and welcomed the support from Quinn Building Products,

“The industry needs to get up to speed with nZEB standards and how this will impact Irish construction quickly, and this event will showcase the very best in expertise, design, case study buildings, and relevant products.

Quinn Building Products were chosen as the main sponsor due to their lead role in the development of bespoke solutions to achieving cost-effective nZEB compliance. In particular, Quinn’s library of accredited thermal bridge details are a game-changer for designers and energy modellers.

Their range of low conductivity structural blocks achieve very low Psi values along critical junctions, which dramatically reduces heat loss and increases occupant comfort. Innovation such as that demonstrated by Quinn will greatly ease the imminent mandatory transition to nZEB, so we are especially proud to have their support as Gold Sponsor.”

NZeb World Forum Launch with An Taoiseach Ireland

Speaking about why they’ve chosen to support the event, Kevin Lunney, Chief Operating Officer at Quinn Building Products said,

“As one of the country’s leading manufacturers of building products, we have a responsibility to support the industry in the move towards nZEB through collaboration and knowledge sharing, as well as ensuring our products are designed to help meet these standards.

We’ve focused heavily on knowledge sharing this year, with the widespread delivery of talks and CPD seminars across Ireland, which to date we’ve delivered to over a thousand industry professionals, with many more utilising the resources and content we’ve produced and published online.

The World nZEB Forum is an opportunity for us to further support the industry, and there is a clear synergy with the ongoing work of our Technical Team.”
